"I've been in the hair care industry since 1973, starting my apprenticeship at the age of 15. In the mid 1980s, one of my client's sisters was diagnosed with chemical poisoning which led to a horrible death. This woman had worked as a cleaner in a local facility and, back then, little was known of the damaging effects of general cleaning products and not wearing gloves. Apparently, the victim's toxicity report had all the well known brands on the top of her list - they were the strongest poisions in her system. From then on, I was determined to research and read as much as possible in order to ensure my knowledge of safe hairdressing products was kept thoroughly up-to-date. I sourced and trialled a wide variety of organic and naturally derived hair products and discovered many did not live up to the standard. Also, organic or pure natural products were very expensive in the past. But now, because of consumer demand, I am happy to report that more and more genuine organic hair products are on the market, with prices becoming extremely competitive. This adds up to great benefits for the consumer, the environment, and for all people in general.
